The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office provides enforcement and investigative services to our citizens through our deputies assigned to our patrol division. Our general case detectives are responsible for investigating serious felony crimes. We partner with the Zanesville Police Department to provide drug enforcement. We are also a member of the Central Ohio Drug Task Force that provides additional resources for these drug investigations.

Muskingum County Adult and Child Protective Services (MCACPS) is a county government agency charged with investigating reports of abuse and neglect of children, providing intervention services to children and families with substantiated abuse or neglect, providing substitute care services as needed, and providing permanency for children with kinship providers and through adoption after court termination of parental rights.
